BPS Payment Update January 19, 2016 12:00 am In England as of 19th January, the RPA had made payments to around 57,700 businesses. This is approximately two thirds of all claimants and takes the total payments made to £779 million. It appears some claimants have been contacted as they are not registered on the Rural Payments System. Payments can only be made to registered farmers. Those who are having problems registering or who have changed their bank account can call the Rural Services helpline on 03000 200 301. In Wales the Government paid 67% of farm businesses by the end of December and as at 13th January, it confirmed 70% of all businesses had been paid. It also remains on track to pay the ‘vast majority’ over the coming weeks. Those not paid by the end of January will be written to and updated on their progress. In Wales, it has to be remembered these are only partial payments. The balance will be made in April.
