BPS News February 4, 2016 12:00 am The RPA has launched a new website page for 2016 BPS claims. This can be found at – https://www.gov.uk/guidance/bps-2016. The aim is to group all the information needed by claimants in one place. In the past it has often been difficult to find things as guidance has tended to be scattered around the .Gov website. At present, however, there is little that can be done from the new webpage, as the online application system is not yet operational. However, it seems progress is being made. Agents have been invited to a webinar to see how the new system is going to work – a hopeful sign that it may be ready to roll-out soon. Registration for the webinar is via – https://cc.callinfo.com/cc/s/registrations/new?cid=17792pm76tl0z A further update on payments has been made by the RPA. As at the end of January it had issued payments to 66,800 farmers (77% of the total). Funds distributed totalled £1 billion of an estimated total fund of £1.43 billion (70%). The RPA’s stated aim is to pay almost all claimants by the end of March, with only a few complex cases going beyond this date. A significant proportion of claims being paid seem to have errors in them, and farmers and their advisors should check them carefully.
