Avian Flu Confirmed July 15, 2015 12:00 am DEFRA has confirmed a case of avian flu (H7N7) has been found in Lancashire. A 3 kilometre protection zone and a 10 kilometre surveillance zone have been put in place and culling of birds at the site is taking place. Cases of bird flu are not that uncommon with outbreaks in Yorkshire last year and Hampshire in February.
