Arla Buys Westbury Site January 30, 2014 12:00 am Arla Foods UK has announced it has purchased the freehold of the Westbury site. Receivers, Lloyds/HBOS have owned the site since the collapse of United Milk over 10 years ago. Arla became shareholders in a Joint Venture (JV) company, in 2010, with Milk Link and First Milk who operate the Westbury Dairy. This JV will remain unchanged, with the site continuing to operate as before. Obviously, with Arla’s ‘takeover’ of Milk Link, and now being landlords of the site, First Milk appear very much junior partners in the Westbury operation.
