Animal and Plant Health Agency October 13, 2014 12:00 am A new agency, the Animal and Plant Health Agency, has been launched. The agency is formed by a merger of the inspectorates of will consist of the Inspectorates from FERA and AHVLA. The new body will be responsible for safeguarding animal and plant health and will work together to stop pests, disease and invasive non-native species entering the UK. The agency will continue to work from existing offices and laboratories.
