Welsh Dairy Aid

The Welsh Government has announced that it will allocate the £3.2m it has received as part of the EU’s Crisis Support Package in the same way as England.  This means it will be distributed to dairy farmers based on milk produced in the 2014/15 year.  It is worth around 0.17p per litre produced or £1,800 for the average Welsh dairy farmer.

The EU has announced that Member States will be able to match-fund the amounts they have received under the Crisis Fund.  However, there seems little appetite to do this in the UK so producers should not bank on any further funds being made available.
