2015 BPS Queries June 30, 2016 12:00 am The RPA has announced how it will be dealing with the outstanding queries relating to the 2015 BPS. Many will have e-mailed or written to the RPA informing it of a discrepancy between what they received and what they were expecting to get paid. As of yet the RPA has not responded to these requests (apart from the standard reply), but it is now writing to all claimants which it believes are part of its ‘planned payment reconciliation process’ to inform them as to what is happening and what they can expect. The process will initially be looking into about 13,000 2015 BPS claims; many of these will be ones where the claimant has informed the RPA. The RPA has said the process will: Focus on those with the biggest payment differences first Contact the claimant or their Agent if they require more information – as always, the quicker the response, with as much detail, should speed up the process Let the claimant or their Agent know the outcome of the process once finished Issue a Claim Statement if any additional amount is paid – it seems this will go to the claimant so Agents my need to prompt clients to send them a copy to check Update any information for the 2016 claim following an adjustment to the 2015 claim It is not too late to contact RPA if you think a 2015 payment is wrong, write or email them at: RPA, PO Box 352, Worksop, S80 9FG; e mail – [email protected] Where a bridging payment has been received, RPA is continuing to make balancing payments as quickly as possible, it hopes to have made most of these by 30th June. A Claim Statement should follow any payment, where the claimant doesnot agree with the payment they should write or e-mail the RPA. Some claimants may not have received a payment at all yet. These include cross-border and those claimants with common land. They also include some farmers who have been told they are not due a payment when this is incorrect. Again RPA is working through these cases as quickly as possible.
