English Entitlement Values

The RPA has revalued entitlements in England for the 2014 year.  As most readers know by now, the calculation of entitlement values is undertaken from scratch each year and the rate can vary depending on how many entitlements are claimed in each region.  As the table below shows, our estimates for 2014 weren’t too bad.  The table also shows the actual payment that farmers will receive.  This is based on the 2014 conversion rate of €1 = £0.7773.

This year gross entitlement values are lower due to the decrease in the EU budget but also due to ‘Pillar Transfer’ (although there will be no further ‘modulation’ deductions).  The net payments shown for 2014 are after Financial Discipline at 1.3% but this is still to be confirmed.   The rate for this year is compared to the payment for the last two years.   The final result is that payments in Lowland England end up 9.34% lower than last year.

Entitlement Statements for 2014 will be available to view online from early January.  Those that applied for the 2014 SPS on paper forms will be sent a paper statement in January.

Reimbursement

As not all of the money levied for Financial Discipline last year was used, claims over €2,000 will receive a reimbursement with this year’s payment.  The exact amount is unclear to us yet and we will confirm this in due course.
