Qualifications and Experience

Having gained an HND in Agriculture with Business Studies, David began his consultancy career with The Milk Marketing Board in 1987, advising farmers in Devon and Somerset. He moved on to become a Senior Manager with Genus plc, responsible for the UK‘s largest farm consultancy at that time, and secured a Royal Warrant for services provided to the Royal Estate.

He joined The Andersons Centre LLP as a Partner in 1999, and has been Managing Partner since 2013. Over the years he has developed extensive experience of working in the Food and Higher Education sectors as an Interim Manager, winning The Queen’s Award for Export in 2006.

Before moving to his current role at NIAB in 2011, he was involved in a major capital and change management project at Aberystwyth University as Director of Operations.

David was instrumental in the acquisition by NIAB of East Malling Research in 2016, and in his role as Chief Operating Officer at NIAB continues to be responsible for the NIAB Estate which is undergoing a major redevelopment programme.
